There is a new Nigerian fashion trend sweeping the country's tattoo parlours - so-called "Pink Lips".
The process involves young men having their lower lip tattooed with a pink paint so that their lips are no longer a shade of black, but instead - a shade of pink.
The reason behind the procedure may be strange but at one tattoo parlour in Lagos, the owner explains: "We help out those with black lips, to clean their lips and make them pink."
None of the men would explain to us the reasons why they were getting their lips done in such a fashion, but the main reason seems to be that women find men with pinker lips more attractive (Desmond Elliot, anyone?).
This particular tattoo shop gets up to ten customers a day and does 'Pink Lips' for about 7000 Naira ($30)
The owner explains they can also do a shade of red as well.

Researchers believe that Graphene(also known as wonder material) could revolutionize cell phones, solar panels and other electric devices.
According to Phys.org the material could lead to the development of smart phones almost as thin and flexible as paper and virtually unbreakable.

The Magdeburg Water Bridge in Germany deserve special mention. Opened in October 2003 and part of the Magdeburg crossing of waterways, it connects the Elbe-Havel Canal to the Mittellandkanal, crossing over the Elbe River. At 918meters, it’s the longest navigable aqueduct in the world.

Since his surprise sack from Square Records, Akinmayokun Awodimula, popularly known as May D, has remained silent on the matter. Different views have been made by fans of both parties, with each taking sides of their favourite.
Just over the weekend, news went round that May D was set to drag his former music label to court over breach of agreement. In some quarters, it was said that there was no formal contract signed by both parties, while others claimed Jude Okoye, who heads Squares Records, couldn't have taken risk signing an artiste without the necessary paperworks.
A fan asked May D via Twitter why he has been silent on the whole issue: "MayD, you have been quiet all this while, what's going on? Talk to me."
The 'Ile ijo' singer then answered, "They say silence is golden! And I've always been guided by the word that says: 'be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger."
When he was later asked "MayD, how would you describe your relationship with Square Records before now?" by the same person, May D replied, "Very cordial. Infact, I would say I was loyal to a fault."
Many have still wondered what went wrong May D and Square Records. He was the first artiste signed by the label after much criticism from fans that P-Square were being 'selfish' by not involving outsiders in the prosperous music business.

A bride-to-be has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her fiance just hours before the couple’s wedding was to start near Whitehall, Pennsylvania. Na Cola Darcel Franklin, 31, and her fiance Billy Rafael Brewster, 36, were planning to tie the knot at 10 a.m, but at some point during the night, Franklin and Brewster began arguing, Steve Luksa, first deputy to the Lehigh County District Attorney, told ABCNews.com. In the heat of the argument, Franklin allegedly stabbed Brewster twice with a kitchen knife, police said. “One of the stab wounds punctured his heart,” Luksa said.
When police arrived at the apartment, shortly after 2 a.m., they found Brewster bleeding from chest wounds on the second floor landing. He was transported to the Lehigh County Trauma center and pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m., less than seven hours before the wedding. Luksa said the couple was not alone in the apartment when the stabbing took place. The couple’s children, and extended family members were also present because of the impending nuptials. Franklin was arrested and charged with one count of criminal homicide, Luksa said. During her arraignment, Franklin told District Judge Donna Butler, “You got to check again,” unable to comprehend that Brewster was dead, the Allentown Morning Call reported. She cried, rocked herself back and forth and eventually choked out, “I … did … not … kill … him … on … purpose.” She is being held in Lehigh County Prison without bail, Luksa said. When Franklin told Bulter via the video conference arraignment that she wanted to go home, Butler responded, “You are not going home any time in the near future.”
