Chelsea set to miss out on Spanish wonderkid Torres despite 'dizzying' offer

Not content with Fernando Torres - Chelsea are raiding the striker’s former club for Spanish wonderkid Oliver Torres. The European champions have reportedly made a ‘dizzying offer’ for the 17-year-old Atletico Madrid midfielder, Despite also being scouted by Manchester United last season, Atletico are confident that their most promising prospect will stay put. They are ready to match the wages on offer from Chelsea to improve his contract through to 2017 and have talked of his graduation to the first team this season.

Torres has been quickly promoted in the Spain youth set-up and, despite being two years younger than some of his team-mates, was a key part of the Under-19 European Championship winning side in Estonia this month. Chelsea have put an emphasis on signing some of the world’s best young talent in recent times, but, according to Marca, could miss out on Torres
